Kina Nepal Trek – Empowering Girls to Rise Above

COMPLETED – a Fantastic success – the Girls School Hostel is built with 40 girls now living there and attending college. Kina provides full support of the 40 girls staying in the hostel through our Education Program.

If you are interested in participating in a culturally rich experience and seeing first hand our development projects in rural Nepal, then this trek is for you!   We are in the final planning stage of organizing a trip that will encompass a trek through the Himalayan mountains (Everest Region), working at the Girls School Hostel project that is currently under construction by our Nepali partners, and visiting Women’s Empowerment Projects that are currently underway.

You will experience trekking through the Himalayan mountains when the rhododendron forests are in full bloom, with warm days and cool evenings, and with the chance to visit with local families in their homes as well as staying at a remote Buddhist monastery.  All this set in some of the most beautiful and culturally rich areas of the world.

The primary goal of this Trek will be to raise money for the completion of the Girls School Hostel in the regional center of Salleri, eastern Nepal.  The hostel will support Kina girls who are moving on to college level education and require a place to live while attending school. All Trekkers will be required to raise a $1,500 donation (tax deductible) that will be used directly to fund the construction of the hostel.

We will be working with our local partners in Nepal and adventure travel experts in providing an unusual and unique experience that most visitors to Nepal never have.  The core two week trek will take you through the southern area of the Everest region after flying into Phaplu airport (near the girls hostel project) and will end at Lukla for the flight back to Kathmandu.   An optional extended trek , continuing on from Lukla, will be available for those with more time and a desire to trek up to the beautiful Gokyo Lakes, near Mt Everest.
