Computers For A Better World
Hello, my name is Eli Krag and I’m raising funds to buy 4 computers for a girls’ school hostel in rural Nepal as part of a project I’m doing at my high school in Vancouver Canada.
My goal is to raise $2,000 – 4 computers for 40 girls attending college in rural Nepal. Please make a contribution by clicking the Donate Now button.
I’m raising the money through Kina, an organization that helps keep girls in school and provides financial and healthcare support for them through to college (grades 11-12). Computers are necessary because girls need them to be able to write, research and study if they want to become successful in the digital world we all live in, even in rural Nepal.
During my trip to Eastern Nepal last year, while visiting various rural schools in the mountains, we were asked if we could provide computers to help kids and the teachers. While on the trip I worked on a school hostel that is now supporting 40 girls in a remote village in the Himalayan mountains where girls come from all over the region to attend a 2 year college away from their home village.
The hostel also has a room for studying when the girls are not in college attending classes. This is where the computers I’m fundraising for will be installed. The picture to the left is of the hostel study room where the computers will be set up.
The picture to the right is of the new hostel that supports 40 girls enrolled in college.
Here are the funds that have been raised for each computer so far.
